Coach Baxter makes one bold guarantee.  If you use the program the way he outlines it, you will succeed academically.  Success stories are literally remarkable and number in the thousands.  See our Success Stories page for testimonies or call our office for specifics.

Coach Baxter coaches students on how to be students.  It is his goal to create three things in each and every person he coaches: to make them thinkers, communicators and competitors in everything they do.  What he has done with Academic Gameplan is to remove the trial and error process that is very debilitating and un-motivating for students.  He uncovers for students what the unpublished and hidden secrets are to "winning in the game of school."

Junior high, high school, college and graduate students.  However, younger students have watched, been entertained, and have been introduced to the attitudes and techniques.

The Academic Gameplan is skill-based, not subject-based.  Activities such as exam preparation, note-taking, and task lists are required of all students, regardless of age or class level.  Organizational skills and fundamental techniques prepare students for success in the classroom, and later, for success in the workplace.  Can a hammer help a 12-year-old drive a nail the same as it can a 25-year-old?  Of course it can and age has nothing to do with it.  Students in middle school have to get organized, plan ahead, take notes, and prepare for tests in the same way as a senior in college.  We give them the toolbox and teach them how to use the tools.

No.  Absolutely not!  Academic Gameplan was originally created by a football coach for his student-athletes, but the skills taught have nothing to do with athletics and everything to do with equipping any student with the ability to compete in the classroom.

Coaches coach and players play.  In other words, the student is the one who must perform; he/she is responsible for learning the system and executing it.  The educator or parent however is also very involved.  Their role is that of a coach.  Their job is to help teach the program (along with the DVDs), to drill the techniques with the student, and to provide whatever support necessary.  The single most important thing to building strong working relationships is shared experiences.  Academic Gameplan is a shared academic experience that an educator and student can have together.

Academic Gameplan has helped several ADHD and ADD children with their study skills and organizational ability.  The DVDs are specifically designed to keep their attention.  The program was created to assist all learning styles (auditory, kinesthetic, visual).
